Leslie Bethea of Surgoinsville, Tennessee was sentenced to over 6 years in federal prison on Monday for fraud related to the Payroll Protection Program and making false statements to a probation officer. Bethea was accused of submitting false information and forged financial records to the U.S. government while applying for a loan under the PPP, and received $20,805 in funds. She then allegedly used the money for a personal trip to the Trump Resort in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, and a cosmetic procedure. Additionally, she was charged with violating the terms of her supervised release by making false statements to her probation officer. Bethea has been ordered to pay close to $21,000 in restitution.
